Washington Gorge Action Programs (WAGAP) and the Klickitat County Senior Services are assisting seniors to apply for two programs, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and the Klickitat PUD Senior Discount.

The Lyle Good Food Pantry reports that 15 of the 50 families being served monthly are asking for support for the first time within the Washington Gorge Action Programs (WAGAP) Food Bank system.

Everyone deserves healthy relationships, but for those in abusive situations this is not a reality and the challenges that society faces in battling Covid-19 may be making these situations even worse.

Low Income Skamania County Seniors can apply for Energy Assistance programs Monday, November 2 & and Wednesday, November 4 at Hegewald Auditorium in Stevenson from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The community of Goldendale took a step in its effort to bring licensed childcare options to area residents as the Washington State Department of Commerce awarded $100,000 to the Childcare Committee of Klickitat County to work toward developing a training program for in-home daycare options as well as to develop a childcare facility in the city.

Larry McCutcheon makes a $2,500 donation to the WAGAP Covid-19 Relief Fund on behalf of the White Salmon Lions Club.

One group of wineries in Underwood decided to team up to create a virtual experience in support of local Community Action Agency Washington Gorge Action Programs (WAGAP)

Having once been pregnant and on her own at 18, Sara understands the challenges of connecting with the most basic of needs on a limited income: housing, healthcare, childcare, employment. She also knows the difference that one caring person can make.

The Washington State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) has coordinated the purchase and distribution of cloth masks to low-income persons throughout the state of Washington.

“We are so grateful for the generosity of the Skyline Foundation. They’ve partnered with us on several projects and we appreciate the continued support,” said Leslie Naramore, WAGAP director.

After several succcessful crops, the hydroponic vertical grow walls at the Bingen Food Bank are about to undergo some significant – and exciting – changes.

On October 18, 2017, the Underwood Fruit Company pear packing plant in Bingen, WA caught fire, causing over 200 employees to lose their jobs.
